Named in honor of the queen of Greece, this early October blooming snowdrop heralds the fall season. It presents a fully rounded flower form for the species with a green heart-shaped mark on the inner segment.
The flower spike elongates and opens seemingly out of nowhere, since the foliage does not appear until after the flower has gone over. Being a vigorous grower, the foliage will grow through the leaves as it does in the sparse forests in the Greek Taygetos.
It would look superb flowering under a Japanese Maple with the dissect brightly-colored fallen leaves around the base of these beauties.
