Having solid green inner segments with a flush of green been the darkest green of any cultivar. Grown by the director of the Vienna Botanic Garden by Professor Eduard Fenzl (1807 - 1879). It has the reputation of being notoriously slow to increase but not necessarily difficult to grow. The flowers never quite opening fully with flatter outer segments flaring outwards a bit, imparting the appearance of a handkerchief skirt. It is one of the last snowdrops to flower, often remaining open until April, depending on weather and siting.
